Tips for Teaching Writing Tasks (6-12 Language Arts) This 2-part series will help teachers deconstruct and then compose the kinds of prompts that students face in "on-demand writing tasks". Participants will learn how to use these prompts for texts they already teach. Targeted to middle and high school language arts teachers.

Differentiation |
Differentiation: Meeting the Diverse Needs of Our Students Differentiation is a “buzz” word used in many educational settings, but what does it really mean and how does it look in the classroom? This series will address the components of differentiation and provide participants with tools to use when planning for the individual needs of their students. Active Learing Strategies K-12 |
K-12 Active Learning Strategies - Engaging All Learners In this seminar; participants will develop a common understanding of "active learning" and why it is essential for student learning. In addition, participants will engage in a variety of active learning strategies, collaborate with colleagues, set purpose and establish procedures for active learning and create next steps for incorporating active learning strategies into the classroom.

GLAD Training (Guided Language Acquisition and Development) K-12 Input Days: Theory/Research - In this training, teachers will receive current research along with clear, effective instructional strategies for teaching all students grade level content while addressing the needs of the English learner in a diverse classroom.

Equity Through the Lens of Personality When one learns how personality functions in human beings, one is amazed at the discovery. Spend two engaging days investigating why people of all ages seem to be from Mars, Venus, Pluto, Neptune. . . Some topics we’ll investigate:

Literacy K-12 |
Developing Metatcognitive Skills in our students Participants will actively explore and discuss the metacognitive strategies and ways to incorporate them into daily teaching practices. The gradual release of responsibility model will be shared through demonstration, and participants will have time to develop next steps for their own teaching situation.

Equity K-12 Teachers and Administrators |
Equity: In this workshop participants will examine the explicit hidden rules teachers and students bring to the classroom that affect behavior, cognition, and education. We will look at some behavioral interventions and instructional strategies to help students succeed in the school and work setting. We are requesting a $7.00 donation for the workbook that accompanies the workshop.

Lesson Planning Grades 4-12 |
Make your Lessons P.O.P! Are your tried and true strategies getting monotonous, boring, stale, or just ineffective? When you check for understanding, do your students give you a blank stare? Then this workshop is for you. Participants will receive a variety of lesson plan templates to make planning efficient and effective as well as a resource folder filled with step by step instructions for strategies that can be used the next day.
